WYCC Parent Volunteers
For our swim meets to run efficiently, it is important for our families to do their part for our team and our swimmers. As a GPSA swim team, WYCC is required to provide volunteers at every meet. To level the amount of effort required by our volunteers, we require that each family earn a set number of volunteer points (points will be determined based on team size). To ensure we have enough volunteers to run a successful meet, this year we will be using Swimtopia to sign up for meets. Please be sure to let Meredith Stevens (GPSA Representative) or Donni Brumback (Volunteer Coordinator) know if you have any questions.
Our team must provide volunteers at every meet including the following (subject to adjust as needed):
- Trained Positions: Admin Referee, Meet Referee, Starter, Stroke & Turn Judges, Score Keeper, Timing Equipment OperatorÂ
- Regular Positions: Head Timers, Timers, Sweep Judge, Ribbon Writers
Some positions (*) do require training, therefore, we are always in need of trained & available stroke and turn judges. GPSA provides a 2-hour training course for those interested in becoming certified as a GPSA stroke and turn judge. It is also a required refresher for returning officials. As a parent, please consider learning the sport from a different perspective. If you are interested, please contact our GPSA Rep(s) or Coach. The training course date(s) are listed on the calendar and on the GPSA website.
Thank you for your commitment to WYCC and the Sea Turtles! The success of our team depends on our parents’ involvement.
